“1962” women’s jacket

Designed by Pierre Girard, the “1962” women’s jacket in charcoal gray is a tribute to all pioneering women in the field of motorcycle racing. 1962 was the year when Isle of Man TT opened its starting grid to women, allowing them to race alongside men. This was also the time when teams of men and women participated in sidecar trials on Ariels or BSAs with elegant female “monkeys” in waxed cotton pants and jackets…
Our exceptional “1962” women’s jacket has no back seams and is crafted from a piece of 360g/m2 waxed cotton woven in England by British Millerain. It features a lined and stitched fitted belt with a leather buckle. Leather-trimmed inside pocket with zipper and five outer pockets: two chest pockets with zippers, one with a flap and one gusseted “D pocket”, two side pockets with flaps and one practical back pocket with flaps.  Snaps reinforced with horse leather and custom-made Waldes zippers.  Velvet-lined Cossack collar with a strap and leather buckle fastener. Elegant velvet cuffs, with a snap fastener. Navy blue cotton twill lining woven in Japan, with inside diamond shaped topstitched padding for unrivaled sophistication.
