Velocette had its Thruxton, BSA its Gold Star and Vincent its Rapide! With this jacket, Les Motocyclettistes are paying a heartfelt tribute to this legendary motorcycle, which, in its Black Shadow version, was the first to break the mythical 200 km/hr. speed barrier.
Manufactured in Paris, each Rapide jacket is made from two to three pieces of horse leather. It features a back shoulder yoke. Straight central zipper and snap fastener at the waist. Side waist adjustment straps with brass buckles. Water-resistant thanks to an inner flap. A “classic” collar with topstitching for improved support as well as a detachable collar, made from gold sheepskin from New Zealand. Tight-fitting sleeves for riding comfort, with a wide leather flap along the wrist zippers. Four pockets, including an inside pocket, two diagonal pockets and a chest pocket, with zippers. 1930s to 1950s style Waldes zippers. Navy blue cotton twill lining woven in Japan, with inside diamond shaped topstitched padding.
